Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is a multi-step account login process that requires you to enter more than just a password. For example, along with a password user will be asked to enter a code sent to your email or a code is sent to an authentication app. Examples: FreeOTP, Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator.
Users are not required to have this turned on. Users can turn it off if they choose to. Below are steps on how to set MFA on your OmegaFi account.
How to set up Multi-Factor Authentication:
- Login > Click Profile Icon >
- Account Security > Select – Multi-Factor Authentication
- Verify your email address > A 6-digit code that is only valid for 10 minutes will be sent to your email used for your username/account profile > Enter Code > Complete Set Up. *Note: If the code is not used in the 10 minutes you must request another code to be sent.
- There are two ways to add MFA to your account.
- Select Add Authenticator App > Follow the steps in the Mobile Authenticator Setup (image below) or,
- Select the email option to have a code sent to your email. If this option is selected when you log in a system generated email will be sent with a 6 digit code to be entered for authentication.
- Install and open the app of your choosing. Scan the barcode within the app and a 6 digit code is provided for you to enter in step 3 of the image above > Select Submit.
- A successful set up will show as "App = created" and "Email = verified" and check boxes should be checked. To "turn off" you will simply uncheck the boxes.
- If you set up a phone and no longer have access to it for the App option you can remove the device and add a new one at any time
Have you switched to a new device?
If you are using a new device and need to reset your authenticator, follow the steps below:
- Go to OmegaFi.com
- Click Log In
- Select Forgot Password
- Enter your email address, and follow the instructions sent to your email
- Once you're logged in, select the 9 box grid in the top right corner
Click the shield icon
- Scroll down to Multi-Factor Authentication
- Choose Remove to disable the current setup
Select +Add to reset your authentication method, or choose to use Email for MFA instead
